量的緩和政策は、金融政策の一つで、景気刺激やデフレ回避（脱却）などを目的に、世の中に出回るお金の「量」を増やすことを目標にする手法をいう。一般に中央銀行は、金利を上げ下げして物価や景気を安定させるが、金利をもはや下げられない「ゼロ金利政策」の導入後などに本手法を導入することになる。
